You may have heard there’s a new Katy brewery. (That’s us!) But if that’s all you know, you haven’t gotten the whole story. Battlehops Brewing is Katy’s board game cafe and brewery in one: we like to call it a board game brewery. What exactly do we mean by that?
It means rather than focusing primarily on beer production, like a brewery, or primarily on board games, like a board game cafe or store, both beer and board games get top billing at Battlehops.
Battlehops Brewing is unique in that we’re producing beer, sodas, and coffee just one room over from our gaming taproom, where we have 400+ board games and custom-built tables.
Why a board game brewery? Board games bring people together. Beer brings people together. It’s delightful when we get to do both!
Our world feels increasingly disconnected, but every day at the brewery, we see people connecting over analog fun. That’s one of the things we enjoy the most about owning Battlehops.
What’s it like to visit our board game brewery? Battlehops is a social, community space where you’re invited to take a break and wind down with beer and gaming. While you might be interested in either beer or board games, we encourage you to enjoy them together because we’ve designed the brewery to deliver on both.
Often, people come for the beer, but pick up a game or two because it’s hard to walk past a wall of hundreds of games and not check one out. We love to see that! Playing a game adds another dimension of enjoyment to the beer experience. Board games can be immersive, like reading a book, but at the same time, they’re hands on and social. It’s good for your brain, stress relief, and of course, it’s a lot of fun.
